School Lunches

Every day the children are supplied with a nutritious and healthy hot school lunch. The kitchen and managed directly through school and we create the menus through feedback and consultation with children and parents. Parents can choose either a halal meat option or a vegetarian option, and the school menu changes each week. All meals are served with vegetables and salads. The school is able to cater for children with allergies. It is a nut and pulse-free zone due to the allergies of current students. If your child has a food allergy and you are concerned about their safety at school, please make an appointment with the Head teacher who will be able to help with your concerns.

If you think your child may be eligible for Free School Meals, please come to the school office where our staff will be able to help. Alternatively, follow this link to the Hackney eligibility criteria to find out more.

 Before and After school Care

Parkwood is able to offer a breakfast club, open to all children from 7:30 until 8:20. Children can attend this provision for a donation each week and will be given a healthy breakfast, including a drink before starting school at 8:45.

Unfortunately Parkwood is not able to offer its own after school care, however we have close links with Elizabeth House, who offer an after school club. Children are collected from school and taken to Elizabeth House Community Centre, 2 Hurlock Street, N5.

Elizabeth House offers a safe, friendly and fun environment for children to play, for arts and crafts activities, games and relax after school. On arrival, the children receive a light snack, and drinks are available throughout the session. Activities consist of a variety of arts and crafts, sports and games. We also have a computer suite which is really popular with the children.
